For this assignment I chose to follow the Polygon and Sub-D Modeling Workflows in Maya series on Pluralsight. Here are the things I learned:

  1. I learned how to add an image to the background of the view, which helps in modeling 3D objects.

  2. I learned how to outline an organic shape using curves.

  3. I learned how to delete and edge loop using the "delete edges/vertices" tool.

  4. I learned how to create more defined geometry by using edge loops and reference images to create the leg of a dinosaur.

  5. I learned how to form the toes of a dinosaur by extruding, duplicating, and merging geometry.

  6. I learned how to use CV curves and extrusion to model the dinosaur's arm.

  7. I learned how to take the rough base geometry from the CV curve extrusion and mold it to more closely resemble the dinosaur’s arm.

  8. I learned how to model a dinosaur’s hand using the same technique as the feet.

  9. I learned how to use the split polygon tool to add wrinkles to the dinosaur.

  10. I learned how to use the split polygon tool and the edge loop tool to add lines and body detail to the dinosaur.
